You are viewing my 1976 Lincoln Mark IV "Lipstick Edition". Like all Lincoln Mark IV’s of this era, it has the 460-4V (7.5L) V8 engine and the C6 three-speed automatic transmission, But this one has the 2.75:1 standard rear end and optional power "Moonroof" and factory installed dual exhaust.
If you are seeking a "show" car, other Marks may be more suitable. This is a 41 year old used car. So, please read the description below thoroughly and ask me if you want more information on anything or any additional pictures. The pictures in this listing were taken April 2016.
I am the third owner of this Mark IV, having purchased it in 2001, and it has just over 75,000 original miles. The original owners had the vehicle from 1976 to 1992, the second owner 1992 to 2001, and then me. All its life was spent in Alabama and Florida before my ownership. I do not have a buildsheet or a factory invoice. I do have the Ford warranty card with original owner's name.
A deluxe Marti ® Report shows this as 1 of 132 of the Lincoln Mark IV's made in 1976. It has the Lipstick Vinyl Roof and Trim, making it a rare combination among however many Lipstick-option ("2UUN" RPO)
Other notable standard features (working fine unless otherwise noted) are four wheel power disc brakes, power steering, power windows, power seats (sluggish forward/back motion, some other features not working), automatic temperature control AC system (not blowing cold air now), cut-pile carpeting, remote driver mirror, chrome rocker moldings, advanced sound-quieting materials, carpeted trunk, and additional dash panel instrumentation (clock does not function).
As listed on the Marti ® report, other optional features (working fine unless otherwise noted) are power Moonroof, aluminum wheels, reclining passenger seat, Luxury Group, Appearance Protection group, cruise control, power locks (do not operate), rear window defroster (condition not known), tilt steering column, interval wipers, power antenna, remote right hand mirror, and the original AM/FM “Quadrasonic-8” eight track (tape player is sluggish) stereo system.
This Mark runs and drives very well. The tires are an older vintage 235/75-15 radial with excellent tread remaining but should be replaced due to age. The seats only have superficial age-related wear but no splits, tears, holes, or bare spots.
The dash, door panels, and headliner are also in very good condition. The door strap handle leather is not splitting. The vinyl parts of the interior -- certain panels, seat side panels, etc., do show yellowing due to age and UV exposure.
The vehicle was refinished in 1999 prior to my ownership and the white pinstriping removed at that time The vehicle has no other evidence of structural rust damage on any of its painted body panels to my knowledge, and absolutely no evidence of underbody/frame/floorpan rust repairs or damage. The vinyl roof is original and in very good condition but is stretching from the corners of the molding.
All the chrome external trim is intact but there are minor imperfections (dings, scratches, other "patina", etc.) in the trim consistent with the age and actual usage. The headlight doors operate and stay closed for several days without starting the vehicle (this means vacuum lines are still in good shape).
A "Red on Red" Lipstick Edition is a rarity on top of a rarity as the Marti ® shows only 1,419 Lipstick exterior colored Marks were made in 1976. Some of those cars may NOT have even had the Lipstick option.
If you know your Lincolns of this era, you know exactly what this car is. I sure hope it finds a good home with an owner who appreciates it and will improve on it, and preserve it for many more years to come.
I have established a Buy-It-Now price for this 1976 Lincoln Mark IV Lipstick Edition. Also I will consider "reasonable" (meaning BOTH buyer and seller find it acceptable) offers. You can make ANY offer you want as long as you will do whatever you need to do in advance to stand behind the number.
EXCEPT FOR BUY-IT-NOW, NO offer will be automatically accepted so I will see them all and respond accordingly: Decline, Counter, or Accept. If you are not familiar with "Make Offer" listings, please review Ebay Motors' policies to completely understand buyer and seller responsibilities so there is NO misunderstanding later.
Note that I reserve the right to end this listing at any time at my sole discretion. Potential buyers outside the continental United States are welcome to make offers but should contact me first to discuss important payment and shipping procedures.
Bidders who have won any of my items in the past and then did not honor your offer/bid, or have made and then canceled a bid that met a reserve, or backed out after I accepted your offer, or have agreed with me on price after the auction ended but then vanished without any communication, are not eligible to bid.
Please ask any questions that you may have that may not have been answered by this detailed listing narrative and visual media attachments. My listings are constructed in complete sentences in order to communicate my knowledge of important facts and to encourage independent thoughts and then any questions from interested parties.
But respectfully, I do not know what is important to you that may not have been discussed or depicted herein unless you ask me. Any and all relevant and appropriate questions you submit while the auction is running will be answered promptly and as thoroughly as possible by email only to ensure clarity of any correspondences.
Given that this is a used vehicle, please do not have unreasonable expectations as to its current condition or future condition under your ownership. Also given its obvious age, this vehicle represents whatever standards of quality and workmanship that existed when it was built, so comparisons to improved build standards of today's vehicles is not appropriate.
If you require it, please make all pre-purchase inspections (at the sole expense of the bidder) before committing to purchase the vehicle. Inspections can be done by appointment only by you or your designated inspection service. Although I believe I have described and depicted this vehicle accurately, please note that this vehicle is sold "as-is, where-is” with no express or implied warranties or guarantees of any kind.
A $1,000 deposit is required from the winning bidder, due electronically via PayPal within 24 hours after the auction ends, to hold the vehicle. I will not be accepting trades. Full payment is due within 3 days of auction end via cash, bank-to-bank or wire transfer, or certified bank check (drawn on a major US bank). Clear title in my name is in hand and vehicle can be scheduled for buyer pickup by appointment at anytime after full payment is received and cleared. I can hold the vehicle in indoor storage for 15 days (or longer, if weather or other uncontrollable factors emerge) at no charge to the winning bidder after the auction (the charge is $15.00 per day after 15 days).
